About Bunting Care

Bunting Care is community friends and grandmothers, a few comfy chairs and a great deal of yarn. Between them they have been knitting and crocheting for longer than they care to admit, first for their own children, then for grandchildren, and now for yours.

Everything in the shop is made by hand in Melbourne, with a choice of knitted and crocheted pieces. The one-of-a-kind pieces are exactly that: when one sells, it is gone. The made-to-order designs are favourites they love making again, in whichever colours and size you choose.

They use soft, baby-friendly acrylic and cotton yarns that stand up to real life, with the odd satin ribbon or novelty button where an outfit calls for it. If you have something particular in mind, a colour to match a nursery or a set for a christening, send a message through the contact page and they will happily talk it through.

Where the money goes

This is a labour of love, not a living: every dollar raised is donated to two children's charities.

Cottage by the Sea in Queenscliff has been giving kids a fun, inspiring holiday by the beach since 1890.
KOGO (Knit One Give One) distributes hand-knitted warmth to vulnerable people across Australia.
